More Fredericksburgh

The boy is the indentured Irish servant working at
the upper class Rising Sun Tavern (currently serving as guide). You knew it was upper class establihment because there was only 5 to a bed & they had 4 lb mouse traps. vs those lower class establishments down by the river that had 10 lb rat traps.

I had lunch on the main shopping street of down town Fredericksburg. I always have to eat outside because of Jake. I bought some confederate & union bullets here.

Even this far north they had the kitchens in a separate building . They were the source of fires burning down many cities, It helped when they stopped making chimneys out of wood! Servants needed to whistle while they ran the food to the main house so that the patrons knew the servants weren't sneaking bites.

The white wood house is the one Washington had built for his mother, Mary.

Went to the Hugh Mercer's Apothecary Shop which was very advanced for its time.
